Aghali village in Azerbaijan’s Zangilan district, developed as a “smart village” project and built by AS Inshaat LLC, a subsidiary of AS Group, has been featured by Euronews, one of Europe’s largest multilingual international news organisations.
The international broadcaster has released a video report titled “Smart urban recovery transforms Karabakh and East Zangazur,” presenting the region’s post-conflict reconstruction efforts to a global audience. The video was produced as part of cooperation with the World Urban Forum 2026 (WUF13).
The report has been published on Euronews.com and across the organisation’s multilingual media platforms. It has also been distributed on international digital platforms such as YouTube and Dailymotion, reaching a wide audience worldwide.
The video highlights how the reconstruction of Karabakh and East Zangazur is moving beyond traditional construction models and is being carried out through modern smart urban development strategies.
According to the report, projects implemented in the region go beyond physical reconstruction. They include the development of smart villages and residential areas, the introduction of sustainable housing concepts, improved energy efficiency, the integration of digital services, and the protection of historical and cultural heritage.
Alongside several other settlements, Aghali village is presented in the report as one of the practical examples of the smart village model. The video draws attention to renewable energy systems, sustainable urban planning, innovative architectural solutions and modern social infrastructure.
It also notes that the approach not only improves living conditions but also creates new opportunities for agriculture and local economic activity, helping transform the region’s social structure into a more digital, adaptive and sustainable system.
Aghali village was built by AS Inshaat LLC in just 11 months and is considered one of the first practical examples of the smart village concept implemented in Karabakh.
